Where To Stay In Seville
If this is your first trip to Seville, one of the biggest questions you probably have is where to stay in Seville. Let me tell you, Seville isn’t a huge city and the main attractions in Seville are near each other, having said that, I recommend staying within a 10-minute walk to the Cathedral in Seville Old Town, this is central and the most charming historic part of the city.
In terms of hotels there are hundreds of luxury and boutique hotels to choose from within the old town, there’s truly something for everyone from balconies with a view to a rooftop bar and swimming pool!

2 DAYS IN SEVILLE ITINERARY

Day 1 In Seville Itinerary: Seville Cathedral, La Giralda, Alcazar Gardens & Santa Cruz
1. Seville Cathedral & La Giralda
After your leisurely hotel breakfast, start your first day in Seville with a visit the world’s largest Gothic cathedral and climb La Giralda for stunning city views.
Seville’s Cathedral is a prominent feature in the old town of Seville, it’s stunning to see in real life, surrounded by orange trees in a beautiful square with traditional buildings and charming horse-drawn carriages.
Inside the Cathedral you can visit Christopher Columbus’s tomb, it’s one of the most popular things to see within the Cathedral itself and the artwork from famous artists such as the well-known painter, Murillo.
If you do plan on going inside, I highly recommend booking your skip-the-line tickets in advance. Tickets to visit the Cathedral are known to sell out, most commonly the morning time slots, especially if you’re visiting over summer!
La Giralda
And no visit to the Seville Cathedral is complete without climbing La Giralda for breathtaking city views, there are 34 ramps in total and once you’re at the top of the bell tower you’ll be blown away!
La Giralda is included in your Cathedral ticket!
2. The Royal Alcazar Gardens Seville & Palace
Just around the corner from the Cathedral of Seville is The Alcazar Gardens and Palace and this is your next and 2nd most important stop of your 2 days in Seville itinerary!
Similar to the Seville Cathedral, I highly recommend booking your tickets to the Alcazar in advance of your trip. In fact, the Alcazar even offers skip-the-line tickets!! This will be a huge time-saver, especially during peak travel months (like summer).
Alcazar Gardens Seville
The Alcazar Gardens Seville is unmissable, its THE most popular attraction and historical sight in Seville and also my personal favourite, I love the combination of lush tropical gardens and intricate Moorish architecture and tilework, it’s a fantastic spot to walk around!
Do not miss the Alcazar Gardens Seville, book it now!!
If you want a deeper dive into Seville’s top attraction, check my complete guide to the Alcazar Gardens Seville, it includes how to experience it, ticket options and more!!

3. Explore Barrio Santa Cruz
Next up is an easy wander through the Santa Cruz district, get lost in the narrow streets and flower-filled courtyards of Seville’s old Jewish quarter.
Santa Cruz, in my opinion is the most most beautiful area of Seville, it’s filled with character, charming squares, decorated balconies and orange tree courtyards!
It’s the perfect area to grab some authentic tapas or stop for a coffee break! If you fancy trying some authentic tapas go for espinacas con garbanzos (spinach and chickpeas) or hand-made croquettes – they will be on every menu!
Lunch in Santa Cruz
Las Teresas is a simple tapas bar, but the location is very dreamlike and quintessential Spain, if there’s an outside table free take it! For coffee, my favourite spot is Filo’s, just a minute walk from the Cathedral!
While you’re in the area of Santa Cruz, you could also go for an early evening cocktail on the rooftop bar with the best views in Seville! La Terraza at EME Hotel is well worth seeking out, it’s my favourite place in Seville for views of the Cathedral and old town, it has a great vibe!
Note: If you have extra time in the afternoon, you can stroll around Jardines de Murillo, which runs along the exterior of the Alcazar wall leading from Santa Cruz, sometimes there’s live music here.
4. Watch a Flamenco Show
Finish your first day or your 2 day in Seville itinerary in style with an authentic flamenco show, it originated in Seville after all, it’s the perfect place to watch an authentic performance!
I highly recommend Casa de la Memoria, they are professional dancers and the intimate venue is extremely attractive! You’ll need to buy your tickets in advance because it’s limited seating and it gets booked out quickly!
Another great option, if you want to stay close to Santa Cruz, is Tablao Flamanco Los Gallios, I’ve actually seen two performances here!
Day 2 In Seville Itinerary: Metropol Parasol, Maria Louisa Park, Plaza de España & Guadalquivir River
1. Metropol Parasol
For the second day of your 2 day Seville itinerary, you’ll start at the iconic Setas de Seville – ‘Metropol Parasol’, it’s an immersive attraction in Seville, ‘Setas’ translates to mushroom and it’s called this because it does resemble a mushroom!
You’ll find the large wooden art installation in La Encarnación square, one of the best things to do in walk along the upper levels for interesting and panoramic views, it’s really unlike anything else you will have seen.
2. Casa de Pilatos
After visiting the Metropol Parasol it’s just a short walk, less than 10 minutes to the Casa de Pilatos – another lovely spot to walk around in Seville! It’s decorated in bougainvillea, mosaic tiles and murals – similar to Alcazar Gardens Seville.
Casa de Pilatos is one of the more well-known palaces with a charming central courtyard filled with traditional terracotta plant pots and artwork.
Its a great place to visit in the Spring time when the purple flowers are in full bloom! You can purchase your entry tickets online here.
Lunch In Seville Old Town
After all that exploring you might have worked up an appetite!
I recommend stopping for a light bite at either El Pinton, a beautiful restaurant, nearby the Cathedral or Petit Comite , which is a lovely tapas bar enroute (4 minutes away) from Maria Louisa Park – the next stop!
3. Plaza de Espana
After lunch, take a stroll through Maria Luisa Park – a city oasis with palm trees and parakeets, which leads you directly to Plaza de Espana.
Plaza de Espana is another stunning iconic landmark you cannot miss when visiting Seville, it’s one of Spain’s architectural marvels – it’s very impressive, and decorated with intricate blue tile details that surround a semi-circular moat and fountain center piece.
You can even hire a boat if you wish to float your way around, but take some time to wander and admire, you might even catch authentic Spanish musicians and performers here!
4. Guadalquivir River
Guadalquivir River is your final stop of the 2nd day of your 2 day in Seville itinerary! It’s the perfect spot to have a relaxing stroll along the river banks, which are lined with colorful buildings, palm trees, and charming bridges (like the iconic Puente de Triana).
If you have spare time (before your final activity below) – wander across the river to the neighbourhood Triana, you’ll find ceramic shops and cafes, much like Santa Cruz.
You’ll be embarking on a A private luxurious river cruise.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking a private evening sightseeing cruise in Seville!! You get to see some iconic Seville landmarks like the Plaza de Toros and Torre del Oro as you glide over the water and catch the sunset – it’s magical.
In addition, this cruise includes haute cuisine paired with wine and sangria. It’s the perfect end to your Seville trip!
Evening Drinks In Triana
On your way back to the hotel, you could finish the evening off with a drink at Ena Sevilla which is the terrace bar of opulent hotel and palace Hotel Alfonso XIII or right on the Triana bridge you have Mariatrifulca, where you can enjoy the river and old town views from the terrace.
Your third option within Triana for a nice cocktail before or after your cruise is the stylish Skyline Kivir bar, also with amazing views!
Make sure you cheers your last night in Seville!
3 DAYS IN SEVILLE – BONUS DAY
Day 3 In Seville: Cordoba Day Trip & Roof Top Bar
1. Private Tour of Historic Cordoba
On your 3rd day in Seville, round of your trip to the region with a visit to Cordoba, it’s one of the best day tours from Seville! Similar to Seville, Cordoba is also steeped in history and breathtaking architecture.
With this convenient private driver-guide, there’s enough time to explore every historic corner, including a walk over the Roman Bridge to Calahorra Tower and visit the star attraction; World Heritage Site Mosque Cathedral.
You’ll have plenty of time to relax in the afternoon and visit the opulent Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos – a fort-cum-palace with serene gardens and fountains – don’t miss this!
In Cordoba Old Town, I recommend wandering, grabbing lunch and spotting Calleja de las Flores, one of the main and loveliest streets! (Especially in Spring when the flowers are in full bloom!)
Your English-speaking driver is very knowledgeable and will point out all the main sights in Cordoba so you don’t miss a thing – and if something doesn’t interest you, the itinerary is completely customisable and you can skip it!
I love this tour by Welcome Pickups, it’s flexible, customisable, private and consistently receives 5-star reviews, it’s absolutely perfect for 1-4 persons – THE best Cordoba day trip from Seville in my opinion!
Check Availability and Book the best Seville to Cordoba day trip!
2. 7th Floor at Querencia de Sevilla
After all of that exploring in Cordoba, there no better way to round off the day than with a lovely view and a vino to toast the sunset!
Wander of to the 7th floor bar of Querencia de Sevilla Hotel, located in Seville old town. It’s very chic, with open spaces, a sophisticated bar menu, a nice atmosphere and even better views – probably the best views in Seville, certainly the most panoramic!
You can book a table in advance, which I only recommend as there are not as many seats as some of the other rooftop bars in Seville – but everyone IS guaranteed a view over the old town of Seville.
How many days in Seville?
To fully explore the city of Seville, I recommend 2 days, with 2 days in Seville you can certainly see the main sights such as the Alcazar Gardens Seville, the Cathedral and Plaza de España (as listed in this post) get a feel for the old town and discover the best places to eat and drink!
You can really elevate your trip to Seville with a gorgeous luxury hotel, a roof top bar with stunning views and by including the best tapas bars to your itinerary!
If you have 3 days in Seville however, you would have a more relaxed pace, plus enjoy an incredible day trip to Cordoba, a beautiful historic city with a central old town to wander and gardens to explore!
A visit to Cordoba is a must-do, its a fantastic addition to your Seville itinerary!
Is 2 days in Seville enough?
Yes! 2 Days in Seville is the perfect amount of time to explore the city itself, if you plan it right and follow this guide you’ll cover everything and maximise your time there!

If you are exploring other parts of Andalusia, maybe as part of a larger trip, the next logical place to stop for a night or two is Ronda or Granada, two fantastic cities with their own charms and stunning historical sights!
