9 BEST DESTINATIONS TO VISIT IN FEBRUARY
Let’s get started, here’s my hand-picked 9 best destinations to travel in February for warm weather and dreamy beach escapes – a total change of scene and culture!
1. DUBAI

Dubai is one of the best destinations to visit in February! It’s warm but not too hot with temps hovering around 24-26°C, which is exactly what you want for lazy beach days – and let’s face it, still hot compared to the UK in February!
I visited Dubai for a couple of nights as a stopover en route to Bangkok and I immediately loved the blend of culture and luxury! Even on my short stay, I can see the appeal for a week-long holiday and the 7-hour flight is not too taxing at all for a luxury beach escape!
This desert city beach has many attractive beach clubs and restaurants to while away the hours. But I also recommend taking advantage of the location by exploring the sand dunes with one-of-a-kind safaris and you must visit the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa, for epic views!
Where To Stay
Dubai has no shortage of top hotels on the beach; two stand-out options are The Banyan Tree and The One And Only (pictured) – both have outstanding amenities.
On my short stopover, I stayed at the Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa – and didn’t really leave it for two days, it’s right on the beach with lovely sea views, my favourite spot was the beach cabanas!
2. TULUM, MEXICO

If you’re in the mood for boho luxe vibes and sweeping white powder beaches, Tulum on Mexico’s Riviera Maya is hard to beat. It provides all this with a side order of warm Mayan Culture!
Tulum is one of my favourite places in the world for a winter sun trip, and February is the dry season, just past the peak tourist-heavy months of December and January, which makes it ideal for staying in a beautiful beachfront boutique!
I’ve spent many days relaxing on the 6-mile-long beautiful beach, enjoying Tulum’s iconic restaurants and vibey bars with my toes in the sand and in the evening discovering the most atmospheric venues set back into the jungle!
And if you’re craving culture, there’s the Tulum Ruins to explore, traditional spas, dreamy beach yoga and cenote-hopping, which is one of my favourite things to do in Tulum!
Where To Stay
The Beach Hotel, it was the most luxurious and fantastic place, decked out with hammocks and plunge pools and it’s surrounded by some of the best restaurants in Tulum! I also love Maxanab Hotel Tulum, a serene hotel on the white sand beach!

3. Hawaii (Maui or Kauai)

February is one of the most magical months to visit Hawaii for balmy temperatures, calm seas, blooming tropical landscapes – and if you’re lucky, you could even spot a whale, that’s something you don’t do every day!
It’s also just before the busy season, so the boutique hotels and luxury resorts are quieter and more romantic whether you’re travelling for a honeymoon, with family or friends. February is perfect, and it’s the month I would choose! (Hawaii is one of the destinations high on my bucket list!).
Each island has its own vibe. Maui is famous for its beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets and lush interior of cascading waterfalls and volcanic craters or for truly spectacular scenery, the Napali Coast on Kauai is a must-visit!
P.S. I would absolutely reserve an afternoon for exploring the dramatic volcanic scenery, clear waters and mountain peaks from a helicopter, it’s my dream!
Where To Stay
For a lovely boutique hotel stay on Maui Island, I recommend Hotel Wailea Relais & Chateaux, and for an adult-only romantic vibe on Kauai, I recommend Hotel Hanalei Bay – a stunning hotel tucked away in an idyllic bay on the North Shore, blending into the natural landscape.
4. Koh Samui, Thailand

Koh Samui is an incredible destination to visit in February, a blend of culture and island scenery and it’s situated in the east of Thailand, so it’s also the driest and hottest place in the country, making it perfect for long sunny beach days!
I’ve visited Koh Samui many times for a long winter break (3-4 weeks, if I’m putting a number on it), enjoying temperatures around 30°C most days from February until April. I love the laid-back vibe of this island.
The beaches are incredible and offer a variety of experiences, from 5-star hideaways to beaches with gorgeous restaurants lit up by lanterns and nightlife. A few of my favourite hangouts include Coco Tams on Boh Phut Beach, Silver Beach and Cocoon Viewpoint for a meal with the most special view!
Beyond relaxing on the many beaches of Koh Samui and eating flavourful Thai food, you can also take a boat tour to Ang Thong National Marine Park, the colours of the water and scenery is unreal!
Where To Stay
Two of the most dreamy hotels I’d recommend are Four Seasons Resort for luxury and authentic Thai charm and Sala Samui, which wonderfully blends Traditional Thai architecture and minimalist styling, set on a pristine beach!
Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa is also a fantastic option in Bo Phut — one of the loveliest warm destinations in February. I’ve stayed here before and would 100% stay again!
5. Marbella, Spain

Marbella is one of the warmest destinations in February for a short-haul break, with long sunny days, perfect blue skies and temperatures averaging 21°C!
I’ve travelled to Marbella three times between January and February. I love the relaxed vibe out of the main tourist season, the beach bars and restaurants are a lot more tranquil, yet the atmosphere is still uplifting!
I spent days walking the Golden Mile and stopping to relax in one of Puente Romano’s many restaurants and relaxation zones, such as Rachel Love’s or beachfront Chiringuito – there’s even a cool DJ set on a Sunday afternoon throughout February!
Aside from eating and drinking along the wonderful seafront, in February you can spend some time in the beautiful white washed towns of Marbella and Puerto Banus, and one of my favourite things to do in Marbella is go on a boat trip – it’s so tranquil and great for dolphin spotting!
Where To Stay
In Marbella’s Golden Mile, the most attractive area, Puente Romano Resort is a classic place to stay in February. It’s where I spent most of my time, I love how this tropical oasis is situated on the beachfront, but it feels hidden!
I also love Marbella Beach Club & Spa for an elegant stay on the Golden Mile — one of my favourite warm destinations in February. The pool and plush pastel loungers are beautiful!

6. St Lucia

Stunning St Lucia is the most romantic island in the Caribbean and February is a wonderful time to visit, it’s warm and dry making it peak tourist season and the perfect vibrant winter sun getaway!
Saint Lucia has stunning scenery of emerald rainforests, dramatic volcanic peaks and powder white stunning beaches; it is as pretty as a postcard and the accommodation is ideal for couples and families alike!
You are spoilt for choice with dreamy beachfront hotels, cliffside luxury retreats in Soufriere with iconic twin Pitons views or cosy boutique hideaways in Marigot Bay, a serene beach experience on this gorgeous island!
If you’re just looking for a week of pure relaxation on a stunning island in one of the warmest destinations in February, St Lucia is a great option – it’s another place that’s on my bucket list!
Where To Stay
Elegant and minimalist Sugar Beach Resort is a stunning resort on the beachfront, located in beautiful grounds overlooking scenic Pitons Bay on Sugar Beach, it always gets high ratings!
I also love Cap Mansion Resort & Spa, perched above the beach on Smugglers Cove – a true gem and one of the dreamiest warm destinations in February for luxury, views and renowned dining. Beachfront Sandals is also beautifully located, with lovely bright (spotless) and beachy rooms!
7. Barbados

Barbados is one of the most luxurious and warm places to visit in February, known for white sand beaches, top seafront restaurants, celebrity hotspot Sandy Lane and quiet glam!
With temperatures averaging 27-29°C, you can expect perfect beach weather. I particularly like staying on the West Coast, it has a lovely calm white beach and you’re not too far from some of the best restaurants on the island. The Cliff Restaurant, overlooking the sea with beachy white wood decor and delicious food is a must for sunset dinners!
I stopped at the dreamy Cobblers Cove, and one of the things I liked the most (apart from the beautiful setting) and pastel-striped loungers was swimming with the turtles in the clear and warm Caribbean waters. It was the best day!
Where To Stay
Cobblers Cove, a beautiful 5-star boutique with 40 suites, sea views and tropical gardens – it’s a total stylish sanctuary! Coral Reef Club – small luxury hotels of the world with elegant decor set on a picturesque bay.
8. Maldives

Escaping to the Maldives in February just sounds like the ultimate dream, doesn’t it? Offering ideal weather conditions, the Maldives is known for endless sea views and relaxing on tranquil beaches – which are truly heaven on earth!
February is peak season, but that just means hot sunny days, crystal-clear waters and calm lagoons – the Maldives is a bucket list destination for many and you don’t have to be on honeymoon to visit!
I love the boutique hotel, over-water bungalow and feet-in-the-sand vibe, it’s so tranquil and yes, romantic – for couples it’s wonderful! Pick a small private island, book a beach picnic for two or snorkel the colourful reefs!
The Maldives is one of the best destinations to visit in February in the world!
Where To Stay
The Maldives is full of dreamy resorts and private islands, but the one I’d recommend is Constance Moofushi for barefoot luxury, dazzling white sand and excellent dining options!
9. ANTIGUA

Antigua, is one of the smaller, quieter Caribbean Islands and also one of the best destinations to visit in February, with a shorter flight and perfect weather, it’s fantastic for a not too taxing beach holiday!
February is actually the driest month of the year, which makes it the best time to visit this island paradise, you can fill your days with blue skies, white sand beaches and discover historic harbours!
English Harbour is the only Georgian dockyard in the world and is a place to dine and admire the stylish yachts! I was a guest at Hermitage Bay, a stunning beachfront property, with lush tropical gardens on Antigua’s west coast and I really had to drag myself away to explore the rest of the island!
But I do recommend a sail trip (the best thing to do) and Shirley Heights for panoramic views over the turquoise sea and English Harbour!
(Antigua has more of a luxurious, exclusive feel and many of the hotels are all-inclusive and adult-only).
Where To Stay
Antigua has no shortage of wonderful places to stay, but I highly recommend Hermitage Bay from personal experience; the setting is unbeatable! It’s dreamy and feels exclusive!
For smaller boutique lovers, my next option would be Cocobay Resort, perched on a headland with beautiful views, it has rustic-luxury charm and an intimate cottage feel.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT FEBRUARY BEACH DESTINATION
Finding your dream February beach escape really comes down to choosing the style that suits you best! Here are a few things to keep in mind if you’re having trouble deciding between all the places on this list!
Warm Weather & Winter Sun Levels
If your number one priority is sunbathing, choose the warmest destinations to visit in February for guaranteed great weather and reliable hot temperatures of 27°C +, such as Tulum, Koh Samui, St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua and the Maldives.
Southern Europe (like Marbella or the Canary Islands) is perfect if you prefer mild-but-sunny (t-shirt weather) and a shorter flight!
Flight Times & Ease Of Getting There
Some of the warmest destinations in February require long flights; decide how much travel time you’re willing to do, especially if you’re planning a quick February escape to the sun!
For beach holidays of less than a week, opt for Southern Spain or the Canary Islands for winter sun, just 2-4 hours away. Medium-haul destinations such as the Caribbean or Dubai are ideal for stays of 7-10 days.
While long-haul, such as Hawaii, Maldives and Thailand, are ideal if you have 10+ days, as the flying time is around 14 -20 hours – personally I would not consider anything less than two weeks!
In summary:
- Less than a week: Southern Spain / Canary Islands
- One week: Caribbean / Dubai
- More than 10 days: Hawaii / Maldives / Thailand
Consider Budget & Value For Money
As well as flight and hotel costs, weigh up how much you’re willing to spend overall, as these warm destinations in February vary widely for day-to-day spending!
Premium destinations include Dubai, Antigua and Hawaii, for example – factor in day trips and all-inclusive options in the Caribbean!
