Looking for the best hotels in Korčula? I’ve got you covered! In this guide, I’m sharing the top areas to stay and my favourite luxury and boutique hotels you’ll love.

Korcula Town is incredibly walkable and holds all the main sights, history and attractions and it’s just beautiful to look at! There are some lovely places to stay here with stunning mountain and sea views, including my preferred hotel in Korcula: Aminess Korcula Heritage Hotel!

This island is attractive in many ways, but surprisingly, it offers very few accommodation options. I’ve often struggled to find a place to stay – that’s not a room in someone’s house, which is why I’ve put together this post to help you choose the best hotels in Korcula and introduce you to some scenic spots you might not have known about!

I am thrilled to share with you my collection of the best hotels in Korcula from boutique to luxury with tips to help you find the perfect place to stay, whether you’re visiting as a group, couple or solo! (And the best news is after Dubrovnik – they are all affordable-luxury!)

3 Best Hotels In Korcula

Short on time? Here’s my top picks for Korčula Island accommodation!

WHERE TO STAY IN KORCULA ISLAND

Korcula is a beautiful and charming island, a rival for Hvar and Dubrovnik in terms of attractiveness and it offers and an abundance of sunshine, which makes it a great place to be for most of the year – not just in summer!

Visitors usually come to the island to explore Korcula Town and the vineyards and wineries of the Lumbarda region – and this is where most will base themselves! But a little further afield, you’ll find scenic bays and villages like Vela Luka that offer pebble beaches and a tranquil ambience and even resorts with sea-facing pools. Below is a full breakdown of the areas!

TOP AREAS TO STAY IN KORCULA

KORCULA OLD TOWN

Korcula Old Town is usually the main place to stay for first-time visitors and shorter 1-3 night stays. It is the hub for history, nightlife, restaurants and boat trips, there’s plenty of things to do in Korcula and it has excellent links for island hopping further afield!

I think the town is stunning and characterful, and the best part is the prom that circles around the old town wall. There are what feels like dozens of quality restaurants and terraces all facing the sea, flanked by huge trees, something Dubrovnik doesn’t have! Surrounding it is a landscape of mountains and sea, it’s so beautiful!

The historic centre is also fantastic, full of cobbled narrow passages, boutique shops and of course charming wine bars as well as wall-to-wall history (pardon the pun!), including my favourite hotel, the oldest on the island; Korcula Heritage Hotel!

A stay here is great if you want to be central and enjoy the atmosphere. This is where you will find the best boutique Korcula hotels and luxury hotels with pools nearby!

LUMBARDA

Lumbarda is a scenic area just 15-minutes outside of Korcula Town, it’s filled with vineyards, wineries and beaches and trails to walk or bike, which is also one of the excellent half-day tours you can take from Korcula Town.

In the centre, there’s a charming village with a central church and traditional orange rooftop houses right next to the sea. It makes for a lovely vista, but of course, the main reason to stay here is for the wine! Wine lovers are going to be so excited, there are at least several wineries that you can visit in Lumbarda, my favourite is Vitis winery!

A stay here is tranquil, there are far more independent places and guesthouses than any hotels, but fear not I’ve found the best one;Eco Aparthotel – The Dreamers Club, which I’ve detailed below!

VELA LUKA

Vela Luka is the island’s second town; it’s roughly the same size as Korcula Town, but it doesn’t have an old town centre or heritage centre. Instead, there’s a lovely waterfront and harbour, this and the authentic vibe, is what makes it appealing for visitors.

The waterfront is actually just as attractive as Korcula Town’s and has many restaurants and terraces, only much quieter. It’s a very nice spot to stroll along and find a sea-facing boutique like Kastel Ismaeli, which I think is the best one for a stylish stay!

Another thing to note is that the port at Vela Luka serves car ferries to Split and public transport links to other areas, such as Korcula Town, are also readily available.

BEST BOUTIQUE & LUXURY HOTELS IN KORCULA

Where you stay in Korcula might depend on your style of trip, whether you’re adding a couple of nights on to an island-hopping adventure or wanting a week-long relaxing vacation!

You might prefer to stay closer to the old town for convenience or just outside of the old town walls with a pool, terrace, amenities and tranquillity!

Below, I’ve curated a list of the best hotels in Korcula, broken down by travel style and location.

HOTELS IN KORCULA OLD TOWN (or walking distance)

Aminess Korcula Heritage Hotel

This is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in Korcula Town, I absolutely love the elegance and excellent location! Korcula Heritage Hotel, (formerly Hotel Korcula de la ville) closely resembles a villa and offers a selection of en-suite rooms just a 5 minute walk from all points of interest in the town.

I stayed in the superior double with seaside balcony, which had beautiful sea and harbour views and plenty of space for two, but the draw is definitely sitting on the seaview balcony after a day of exploring!

Breakfast is included in the room rate and it’s delicious and there’s also a restaurant, bar and terrace overlooking the water and boats, which is a nice chill and secluded spot!

Younique Liburna Hotel

If you’re looking for a more luxurious stay in Korcula Island that balances location, views and amenties, Younique Liburna Hotel is a top choice!

Situated just outside the busiest part of Korcula Town (but still very central), this hotel is just a 5-minute walk from shops and restaurants while feeling like a peaceful seaside escape.

The standout feature is their pool and scenic location alongside a wonderful restaurant terrace with the same stunning sea views across the pretty bay and over towards the old town, it’s a lovely spot to relax and enjoy breakfast.

While I didn’t stay here, I did take a look around for next time as it belongs to the same hotel group Aminess as the Korcula Heritage Hotel, which I LOVE and I’m now convinced a pool in Korcula over the summer would be lovely!

The hotel also has boats, tennis, sailing and windsurfing which are only only steps away nearby the beach, which is nice for families and longer stays!

Hotel Korsal

If you want modern boutique vibes and a beautiful vista in Korcula, Hotel Korsal is for you!

It’s located directly on the beach front within a car-free zone, making it perfect for swimming and strolling to the old town centre, literally the most idyllic spot and previous guests think so too – it receives high scores for location.

The hotel features modern and traditional decor and underfloor heating for visiting in the off season, so very thoughtful! There are several room types, I obviously recommend the sea view suite with a balcony to elevate your stay!

But what makes this hotel in Korcula special is the restaurant and large terrace overlooking the water and beach promenade, you can choose from the à la carte menu and extensive collection of Croatian wines with a sommelier on hand to help!

This is one of the best value hotels in Korcula, set within a beautiful location while being just a stone’s throw from the old town charm!

Zuviteo Residence

Perfectly located in the middle of Korcula old Town, 4-star Zuviteo Residence offers upscale rooms close to everything, including restaurants and the port. It’s ideal for a 2-3 night stay!

There are five room types to choose from and three of those offer balconies, which is always a bonus to have your own cosy outdoor space in the centre of a heritage town!

All rooms are super stylish, modern with top amenities and include full bathrooms, lounging areas plus extra details like the generous breakfast in-room service and mini fridge, all guests rave about the amazing welcome here!

I particularly love the superior queen room with balcony to enjoy breakfast outside, but the superior king double with loggia is also pretty special – if either room is available, don’t hesitate to book!

San Teodoro

If you’re looking for an affordable boutique hotel with a fantastic location and breakfast included San Teodoro is an excellent choice!

This charming boutique is situated in the old town, just around the corner from where the boats and island-hopping ferries dock, so you’re not compromising convenience for price, which is rare in Croatia’s heritage towns.

The rooms are traditional with a few modern touches – in keeping with the authentic stone house and breakfast on the outdoor terrace is included with the rates. If available book the top floor double room with balcony – it gets top reviews!

Aminess Younique Lume Hotel

For a modern boutique experience in Korcula Island, Aminess Younique Lume Hotel is hard to beat!

Perched on the edge of the shoreline in Brna half way between Korcula Town and Vela Luka port, its one of the few hotels in Korcula that offers a pool and loungers by the sea.

The rooms are nicely decorated and come with floor-to-ceiling windows revealing the epic seaview, some come with balconies and can fit up to 6 guests if you choose family style!

While it is a bit removed from the town centre and main points of interest, its tranquillity make up for it if you’re looking for a different area to stay, just bear in mind that it is best suited if you have a car.

Summary Of The Best Hotels On Korcula

Tips For Booking Your Accommodation In Korcula, Croatia!

1. Book Well In Advance

If you’re visiting Korcula in the Peak summer season; late June through to the end of August, I recommend booking your hotel at least a few months in advance.

I booked the superior double with seaside balcony at the Korcula Heritage Hotel 3 months in advance, the boutique hotels in Korcula Town always sell out fast!

2. When To Stay In Korcula

Korcula has a sunny and warm climate for most of the year, you can comfortably visit between April and October. Just be aware that the peak months July and August are very hot, busier and pricier and off-season will see fewer restaurants and accommodations and activities open (Nov to March).

I love May to early June or September for the best experience.

3. How Many Nights To Stay

I recommend staying for at least four nights in Korcula to explore the old town, absorb the surroundings and visit Korcula beaches, islands and vineyards, ideally three full days or longer, depending on how much relaxing you want to do!

4. Stay Close To Town

While Korcula Town is compact and very walkable, I still recommend staying closer to the centre if you want restaurants, nightlife and boat trips.

I once stayed about 10-15 minutes away from the centre in an Airbnb and although it doesn’t sound far walking back on an evening in the dark with nothing around but trees was not the one!

5. Be Aware Of Airbnb & Apartments

One of the reasons why I struggled in the past to find accommodation in Korcula was because of the overwhelming number of apartments. It’s the primary type of accommodation by more than 85%, but from my experience, it’s not good!

The apartments are often in shared residential buildings or rooms in houses, which are not soundproofed at all (I won’t share my grim story), also many are situated above noisy restaurants and bars etc, I would just avoid!

6. Transportation Is Easy

Korcula Old Town is car free, but there are still plenty of options to get around the island!

The old town port is where you get the ferry to Mljet, Hvar, Dubrovnik or Split and in the same spot you can get water taxis to the islands and beaches, such as Moro Island and regular car taxis, which will take you to the Vineyards in Lumbarda for around €10.
