When looking at the best resorts in Split, Le Meridien is hard to beat! Le Meridien is the only 5-star resort in Split, and with it you get a fantastic private beach for sun lounging, Gooshter beach club, the most exclusive in Split, plus top cuisine and cocktails!
At Le Meridien you can also expect fantastic coastal and boho rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and amazing sea-views and balconies! Le Meridien’s style and decor are what sets it apart, I love it all, it’s so well-designed!

BEACH HOTELS IN SPLIT TIPS!
BOOK EARLY
The top hotels in Split on the beach can get booked up in advance over summer because there’s so few of them! To ensure you get the room type you want – i.e. balcony with a seaview, I recommend reserving as soon as possible, especially for boutique hotels such as Gallery Luxury Suites, Hotel Aria or Loor Retreat!
WHEN TO VISIT
The best time to visit Split for a beach break is from late May until late September for warm and sunny weather! In the summer months, you can take advantage of the full beach hotel facilities, such as the pool, sun loungers, rooftop terraces and partake in boat excursions!
July and August is the peak, (school summer holidays) be aware that resort style hotels will be busy at this time and will have more families present.
HOW LONG TO STAY
If you’re looking for a relaxing beach holiday, I recommend 5-7 nights, in this time you will be able to visit Split old town, explore a few nearby sights and go on a day trip or two to the islands. If you are continuing onto the islands afterwards, then 4-5 nights would be perfect.
HOTEL EXPECTATIONS
As you can see from this post featuring only 7 of the very best hotels in Split Croatia on the beach, there are few hotels in the boutique and luxury category! Split old town and Riva offer mainly apartments, small guest houses and boutiques due to the nature of the centuries-old buildings.
Only on the outskirts, such as near Marjan Hill or along the coast can you find a few beach resorts and hotels and believe me not all are good, so I have only picked the very best hotels in Split on the beach for this post!
HOW TO GET AROUND
Split is quite easy to navigate, from the beach hotels in Split that are near Znjan, Stobrec or Podstrana, you can book an Uber, a hotel taxi, shuttle bus or regular bus or even drive! Whereas if you’re staying near Bacvice you can easily walk to Split’s old town centre in around 12 minutes.
Compliment Your Split Croatia BEACH Hotel Stay!!
If you’re wondering what to do in Split, there are tonnes of amazing things to see and do that will elevate your beach stay in Split, from natural wonders to boat trips and more!
You can easily include one or two incredible experiences in your Split itinerary, whether you’re visiting for 3 days in Split or longer! Here’s my best picks that are worth exploring!
Diocletians Palace
No trip to Split is complete without visiting UNESCO Diocletian’s Palace in the Old Town, it’s the heart and soul of Split and full of history and character! An open palace with beams, 4AD pillars and ruins, climb the Cathedral’s bell tower for views or take a short guided walking tour for history and hidden gems!
Split Riva
Split’s Riva is amazing, it’s my favourite spot to stroll! The prom is filled with beautiful Venetian buildings, tall palm trees and snazzy terraces of restaurants and bar-cafes with sea-facing views and a nice sea breeze!
Sunset is a particularly lovely time to visit, I recommend stopping by the Olive Tree’s Mediterranean terrace for drinks!
Marjan Hill Viewpoint
Marjan Hill is the main panoramic viewpoint of Split! It’s the place to go to for a quick change of scene from the old town, where you can be amongst nature and views! It’s located at the end of the Riva, just a 20 minute uphill walk and at the top you can reward yourself with a glass of wine at restaurant Vidilica terrace!
Sunset Sailing
This magical sunset sailing trip is worth leaving the sun lounger for! Sail around Split’s coastline and Marjan Hill with free-flowing drinks and music with a backdrop of Diocletian’s Palace, it is well worth doing and as you only sail for around 2 hours it slots perfectly into your evening!
Blue Lagoon
I LOVE this incredible island hopping excursion, visiting the Blue Lagoon, 3 islands and the stunning heritage town Trogir! If you only do one island hopping adventure, this one is the best for scenery, unspoilt beaches, islands, clear water swimming and more!
