If you are a frequent traveller or looking for a suitcase upgrade, Level8 has a range of quality suitcases suitable for short or long stays around the world, whether you’re travelling to Spain or jetting off on a cruise!

I know from experience that not all suitcases fit all trips! I’ve owned many pieces of luggage for different vacations and in recent years, I’ve stopped in European winter sun destinations, such as Marbella, for weeks at a time, where I need to pack more essentials and little luxuries!

So when I was approached by Level8 to test their latest range of popular hard shell cases, I jumped at the chance, as this was the final piece of luggage I was missing in my collection!

Let me tell you, if you’re going away for a few weeks, you need to be organised, pack well and invest in a solid secure case, here’s how I got on with the Level8 Voyageur Suitcase – my compete review of the key features, pros and cons and my personal experience!

LEVEL8 VOYAGEUR SUITCASE REVIEW

Who are Level8?

Level8 is a sleek New York luggage brand that’s all about making travel easier. They’ve just started offering free UK shipping (love that!), and their premium suitcases are designed to be stylish yet functional.

Think high-quality materials, minimalist, and cases built to last – the kind of case I’d happily wheel through cobbled streets or glide with across an airport!

First Impression Of The Level8 Voyageur Collection

As I clicked around the Level8 website, I was instantly drawn to the Voyageur, the style and hardcase shell with 360° spinner wheels and multi compartments really stood out as a quality piece of luggage to assist my longer travel stays to Marbella across December and January!

Level8’s colour range is also eye-catching. I loved the limited edition celadon, one because blue is my favourite colour and two, I wanted to be able to spot my case easily on the conveyor belt!

The Voyageur checked-in comes in three sizes from 26″, 28″ and 30″ – I opted for 28″, which is large and sturdy enough to hold my extra belongings and keep within weight restrictions!

Ordering & Delivery!

First of all, I love that the website is easy to navigate and view the luggage details at a glance, so you can compare and check which suitcase is right for you!

You might be surprised by the sleek modern designs, but it’s not all about appearances, the list of key features are pretty impressive too, including spinner wheels and extra-wide handles (full list below!).

I received my chosen Voyageur within a week; it was boxed and came with a cotton dust bag, which ensured its blemish-free arrival and your courier (Yodel) keeps you updated along the way!

(I couldn’t wait to test and write this Level8 luggage review!!)

Key Features Of The Level8 Voyageur

The Level8 Voyageur is my first hard-shell case with a proper TSA lock, which is needed for my longer stays and security, while the 360° spinner wheels make moving a larger case much easier! Overall, I’m impressed with the extra details, here’s the full list!

Quick Facts:

  • Capacity: 99 L
  • Weight: 12.4 lbs (5.6 kg)
  • Dimensions: 29.1”H x 16.6”W x 13.3”D
  • Material: German-made Makrolon polycarbonate
  • Available colours: Black, navy, dark olive, yellow black, celadon

Strong Materials

The Voyageur is made from German-made Makrolon polycarbonate, which is known for durability and for extra peace of mind it has a premium anti-scratch and waterproof shell!

I know first-hand how important this is – I live in England and often return in the wet winter months from somewhere hot and sunny, so you want your case and contents to still be intact after a few trips!

Multi Compartments

I love a case with lots of compartments and the Voyageur has many, it’s easy to organise and store your things! The case has a large dry-wet compartment on either side, it’s a great feature to protect your things from spills and there are two zip pockets for smaller items such as your accessories!

I always use packing cubes for extra organisation and with 99 litres, I found there was lots of space, my belongings weren’t in any way squashed!

Wide Handle

Another key design feature on the Voyageur is the wide adjustable handle that slides up and down the exterior of the case – it’s genius and perfect for tall people like me! It stands out above other premium suitcases, where the handle normally sits in the middle, taking up precious space.

Great Wheels!

Wheels are everything on a case, especially a larger case, where you need to be able to move it effortlessly! This is exactly what Level8’s 360° quiet spinner wheels do!

The spinner wheels allow you to manoeuvre the case in any direction smoothly, even with the heaviest of loads, it’s another fantastic feature I was impressed by!

TSA Lock Security

The case has a 3-digit locking system, which is TSA-approved for extra security. Instructions are attached to the handle on how to set this up for using your own 3 numbers – this means it’s more difficult to break open than a traditional lock and you don’t have to worry about a key, but you do need to remember your 3-digit number!

My Personal Level8 Luggage Experience

Straight away, I loved all the details, they were exactly as described, from the eye-catching functional spinner wheels to the extra-large handle that slides down the back of the case. It’s easy to glide and the handle is tall, so it felt comfortable to walk with!

I found the instructions easy to follow for the TSA lock and the hard shell exterior of the case means it has extra protection for when it gets thrown around at the airport, which is almost inevitable – the material also is easy to clean, luckily as I chose the lighter colour Celadon!!

Internally, the standout feature is the waterproof compartment; this is something I wish all cases had, as it is brilliant for storing toiletries and providing extra peace of mind. I love multi-compartment options and the four on the Voyageur make packing easy, and the zips are strong too!

I also used Level8 packing cubes for extra organisation, as I mentioned, I was interested in a larger hard shell case for longer travel stays and the compartments and packing cubes meant that the extra clothes and personal items wouldn’t be totally crumpled and squashed en route – infact there’s even spare space!

Having a quality, secure hard-shell rolling case is going to make every future long stay much easier. It feels like the perfect companion for a summer trip! I can already picture myself wheeling it towards a beautiful beach resort!

Is the Voyageur worth the cost?

As Level8 is a premium luggage brand it is not cheap, the cost for the Voyageur check in 28″ is currently £319.99 on the website (you get 15% discount with my code littlewanderblog15!).

I think quality luggage is worth investing in for peace of mind, the Voyageur is sturdy, made from great materials and it feels like it will last a long time! It is not you’re average suitcase, it’s built to last and the design is flawless!

Tip! Level8 offer sets, which offer better value for the 20″ and the 28″ together for £569 – you’ll also get 15% off the set with my code!
