Dubrovnik is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited. The entire coastal region is scenic and the old town of Dubrovnik makes for some amazing photos! I couldn’t get enough of the orange roof tops peering over the crystal clear blue water and the incredible sunsets which attract large crowds every evening!
It’s a romantic destination filled with narrow passages and charming terraces and despite the large summer crowds, Dubrovnik still remains a wonderful place, well worth discovering!
Most of the iconic pictures you see over Dubrovnik are actually from Ploce!
If you’re looking to have THE BEST time in Dubrovnik, I highly recommend visiting during the off-season late May to early June or Mid-September, this way there will be fewer tourist, lower prices and you will still benefit from the incredible weather. Stay in Ploce, high above the old town, it really is picture perfect – you won’t want to move from your balcony (just see the first photo in this post)!
You can truly see everything of the old town in 2-3 days (it’s pretty compact!) including the well-known spots such as the wall walk, cable car and Lokrum Island, but if you want to visit the nearby beach coves, islands and wineries then I recommend stopping longer, especially if this is your first taste of Croatia!
