Cavtat is a small heritage town set within a scenic bay, surrounded by island scenery, a pretty Riviera, and mountain landscapes along Dubrovnik’s gorgeous peninsula, making it a relaxing place to stay!
The harbour and old town are the real heart of Cavtat, which is very walkable and charming, and there are also sweeping bays with walking trails, beaches and luxury hotels like Boutique Hotel Supetar Cavtat offering lots of privacy!
When planning where to stay in Cavtat, I recommend focusing on the waterfront and private bays, the most picturesque areas, where you can be just a short walk to the best restaurants on the Riva, viewpoints, and beaches!

Hotel Supetar is one of the most beautiful places to stay in Cavtat, with a pool, and even outshines some of the top hotels in Dubrovnik with its incredible blend of heritage exteriors and high-quality furnishings. It feels stylish, calming and even romantic!
My favourite thing about this luxury boutique hotel in Cavtat is the ambience, location, and the attractive outdoor Mediterranean-style garden and terrace right on the prom with marina views – I really enjoyed spending time here during my two-night stay, it’s very private and relaxing!
All the rooms here are beautifully decorated, and the superior room is heavenly, but next time I would splurge on the residence superior room for the sea views, I highly recommend this hotel in Cavtat for couples especially!

Hotel Croatia is one of the best known 5 star hotels in Cavtat with an iconic clifftop setting and panoramic views, it’s ideal for longer stays to take advantage of the enviable position and top-notch amenities, including two beaches and pools!
Situated in a private bay this seaside resort offers completely refurbished sea-facing rooms, a lovely spa and two good-sized pools with scenic views, and there are several restaurants to choose from if you don’t feel like leaving!
When I visited in September, it felt quiet and spacious, and I particularly loved the outdoor terrace, which provided a lovely shaded spot to relax for an hour or so with a coffee – there’s also easy trails to follow, leading you back to the village and beaches, which is one of the best things to do in Cavtat!
This larger style resort makes a great base for stays just outside of Dubrovnik, and you are just a short walk to Cavtat village with access to boat excursions for exploring the islands and peninsula!

The pool and sumptuous rooftop terrace are the standout features of this hotel; they look over the whole bay, as do some of the sea-view rooms – a deluxe or premium sea view with balcony is definitely worth the upgrade!

There are a total of four private apartments with balconies at Villa AnMari to choose from, including a very spacious penthouse. They each come with the same minimalist style with high-end amenities such as rain showers, full kitchens and dining areas as well as smart TV’s and air-con.
Villa AnMari is the perfect choice for independent stays, there are lots of things to do in Cavtat and around the area, plus there’s parking if you need it. I think this is a really lovely place to stay, especially for longer stays, I wouldn’t hesitate, it’s a fantastic alternative from staying in Dubrovnik!

There are also local buses connecting Cavtat with Dubrovnik, and it’s just a short drive from Dubrovnik Airport, making it an ideal first or last stop on your trip!
