Looking for the most beautiful beaches in Korčula? You’re in the right place! In this guide, I’m sharing the best beaches on the island from hidden coves to lively bays – plus my top tips for boat tours that explore Korčula’s scenic coastline and nearby islands.
Korcula is famous for its beautiful rolling-hill landscape of vineyards, mountains, and quaint orange rooftop villages. It’s just brimming with natural beauty and all around is lush turquoise water perfect for swimming and relaxing among lovely vistas!
I’ve visited this island many times and always love exploring the rugged coastline as well as the vineyards, there’s some real hidden gems here, from small beach coves, shallow water pebble beaches and even a few tiny islands, which you can easily hop on a boat to!
In this guide, I’m sharing the best beaches in Korcula, top boat excursions and insider tips, so grab a drink and let’s elevate your Korcula itinerary!
BEST BEACHES IN KORCULA
Pupnatska Luka Beach
Pupnatska Luka Beach is one of the prettiest beaches in Korcula, situated on the Island’s South Coast, a 30-minute drive from Korcula Town.
Locals will often tell you that this is the best beach in Korcula, mainly because of the expansive white pebbles and clear turquoise water bay with a lush green backdrop. There’s lots of space, so you’ll have an easy time finding a spot!
It’s perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or grabbing a drink at the beach bar and you can also rent beach beds and sun umbrellas for around (€19), but arrive early for the best position in summer. I found it got busy after 11am mainly with locals due to the location!
Tip: If you’re driving, avoid the dirt roads and follow the main highway until you see the Pupnatska Luka Beach sign!

Bačva Beach
A small, secluded cove tucked beneath cliffs on the southern coast, Bačva Beach follows a similar journey to Pupnatska Luka Beach via the rollercoaster of roads. But if I’m honest, this beach is smaller and even prettier than the aforementioned ‘best beach’, I think it must be a local secret.
There’s a charming beach taverna serving grilled fish and local wine – the ultimate lazy lunch stop, which you’ll pass on the way to the narrow pebble beach with clear and calm water!
This beach in Korcula is all natural, so you’ll need to bring your own things for comfort and water shoes for the pebbles and as it’s smaller I’d reserve it for ‘off peak’ visits such as May, September or October and before midday!
Lumbarda Beach Vela Pržina
If you prefer sandy beaches, head to Lumbarda! Vela Pržina offer shallow waters, a beach bar and a relaxed vibe at the foothills of Lumbarda’s famous vineyards and olive groves!
While you’re in Lumbarda, you could even combine the two: a morning on the beach and an afternoon spent wine tasting tasty Grk wine and sampling local produce, it’s one of the best things to do in Korcula!
Lumbarda’s rare sandy beaches (well, rare for Croatia) are great for everyone looking for easy swimming and a laid-back day in the sun, plus they are way more accessible than those in the south of Korcula; you can grab a 10-minute taxi from Korcula Town!

Pst! Korcula is perfect if you’re looking for the best beach vacation in Croatia, I recommend staying in a lovely hotel right on the seafront with a private beach, such as Tara’s Lodge or Aminess Vival Port 9 Resort, check out my full accommodations recommendations here!
HIDDEN COVES & SECRET SWIMMING SPOTS
Samograd Bay
Korčula is full of tucked-away bays best reached by boat or scooter and Samograd Bay is just one of those, it’s the most remote pebble beach in Korcula, with dramatic cliffs and super scenery!
You’ll need your own transport for this beach, unless you find a particularly excellent taxi driver, just follow the signs from Racisce until you come across the parking bay, from there it’s 150-metres on foot to the beach through pine trees, but once there you will be amazed!
Samograd Bay has the best turquoise water and is surrounded by gorgeous island scenery. It’s unlike anywhere else in Korcula – just bear in mind that as an unspoilt beauty, you’ll need to pack your own provisions (sunhat, beach towel and water shoes), there’s practically zero shade!

Sveti Nikola
Sveti Nikola is a little area west of Korcula Town, a short walk along the beautiful waterfront, my favourite area for dining in Korcula among the giant trees and epic mountain backdrop. This stretch of promenade is lined with narrow piers that are more popular with sunbathers than boats! (Remember Korcula beaches come in all shapes and sizes!)
Locals and tourists alike lay towels on the tiny docks for swimming, sunbathing with spectacular views over the walled town, check it out and bring towel and a book, maybe after breakfasting at Aurora!
Secret Beach Cove
On one of my wanders around the shoreline of the old town Korcula, I found a secret beach in Korcula! As I mentioned, Korcula is full of little pebble beaches with room for only a dozen people, luckily, this beach is so well hidden you’ll likely have it all to yourselves!
If you head towards Nigra restaurant and continue following the shoreline path, you’ll come across a row of houses and a small church. Then, keep your eyes peeled for a narrow passage of steep steps that lead down to a small but perfect pebbled beach cove and enjoy a couple of tranquil hours swimming and relaxing in this lovely spot!
P.S. Go to Nigra restaurant for lunch or dinner, it’s one of the best restaurants in Korcula!

TOP BOAT TOURS IN KORCULA
Private Korčula Boat Tour
One of the best things I found to do in Korcula is a private boat tour around Korcula’s beautiful bays, islands and islets, it’s perfect for a morning of scenery and adventure on the water! (Trust me, you’ll see many Korcula attractions this way).
We explored more bays and beaches in Korcula, such as Paradise Beach and stopped for swimming in clear turquoise sea near the historic shipwreck, it was a brilliant experience away from the crowds, I loved all four places we were taken to on this tour!
And the benefit of taking a private tour is that you can tailor it if you want to, our guide Sasha was fab and finding the best locations and it was just as nice to see the passing scenery and changing landscapes – I highly recommend it for couples or small groups, but do book in advance!
Tip! If you fancy ending the tour with a cocktail, head to Stupe Island and Moro Beach bar!

Korčula Archipelago & Badija Island Island-Hopping
Just off the shoreline of Korcula there’s Škoji Archipelago, which is made up of 20 small islands and you can easily visit from Korcula Town Harbour. It’s a similar set-up to Hvar, only these islands are even more uninhabited; they are only really made for short hops, which is exactly what you can do on this inexpensive island-hopping water taxi!
Spend a fun afternoon hopping between the islands, discovering different landscapes and of course beaches! I recommend focusing your time on three islands, firstly Vela Stupe Island; a natural lagoon occupied entirely by the blue and white beachy Moro Beach Club, situated on a small rocky area with a cute bar and relaxed vibe – check out my pics below!
Badija Island Korcula is another good choice, it has a Monastery and a coastal path that takes you around the island in 1 hour 30 minutes, you’ll see giant white stones and wild deer wandering around, while pretty Vrnik Island – the final island on this ticket, has the loveliest sparkling shallow waters just steps from the water taxi pier!
Tip! Buy your water taxi ticket ahead of time here, do not buy individual tickets at the harbour unless you want to be marooned at an tiny island for hours on end!
